i didn't mean to make this a full month after the last one oops... i've been really busy with work and everything so apologies for the long wait, but because it's been such a long time i have some exciting things to share (they're exciting for me, maybe not for you but this is my blog so :P).

the first thing i have to talk about is a new page i added to this website! it's the 'tools' link in the navbar, and it's where i'm hoping to put all my quirky little javascript projects that i make (since i want to start learning that hellhole of a language for some reason...). the first tool that i've made is a bpm calculator for songs because i like to make remixes of songs and i don't trust the online bpm calculators so i made my own :). pls don't judge how janky it is, i'll try and fix it up in the future but right now it's working and that's all i need.

speaking of song remixes, i started uploading some new remixes to my youtube channel here, so check them out if you want (DISCLAIMER they aren't great but i try my best). you can call them remixes or mashups, remixes are more popular with the youtube algorithm so i use that word but they should actually be considered mashups but i don't really care that much. currently i'm trying to remix every song on chrli xcx's brat album, i've hit a creative roadblock at the moment but hopefully i can get around to finishing them all soon. making mashups has been a big passion of mine for as long as i've had access to Audacity, i just really like hearing songs that go well together and i really like when i'm able to make the song in my head a reality. i can't really say i'm creative enough to make my own songs, i've definitely tried but nothing solid has come out of my efforts so far.

my boyfriend bought me disco elysium when it was on sale last and i finally got around to playing it, and it's amazing so far. i just finished the second day there and i love everything about the game, from the artstyle to the dialogue to the music to the characters to the story and everything in between. i won't put any spoilers here because i went into the game completely blind and i think that was the perfect experience so i would recommend doing the same if you haven't played it (be aware that it's got a whole essay of trigger warnings to go along with it though), but once i'm done i'm going to write the biggest review on backloggd about this game because it's amazing.

another thing that's happened since the last time i updated this blog is that i've been converted to the dark side... aka i installed linux on my laptop. basically my laptop is about 7 years old, and i've had windows 10 installed on it for as long as i can remember. now i don't have any problems with windows, i really like it on my pc (that has a ryzen 7 and a 3060ti so that may be influencing it) but for whatever reason the windows that was installed on my laptop was borderline corrupted??? noting serious was broken but there were weird things that would happen (like random things lagging or my microsoft pfp being missing) and it definitely wasn't infected with anything so i just had enough of it and finally made the switch to linux. i decided to choose debian as my flavour of choice, and so far it's been great! i had a few issues setting up github because normally i am a disgusting github desktop user, but i'm really pushing myself to actually learn commands so i can feel like a real dev. i do miss being able to play most of my steam games on my laptop, but i also have literally hundreds of games from itch.io that i can run so it's a good excuse to go through them

anyways that's probably all i have to talk about right now, this time next week i will be graduating so i've got a lot to do this week but i'll try and update this site sonner than before (no guarentees though :P)
